Anthony Joshua will have to wait to become a 3-time heavyweight champion after Daniel Dubois knocked him out in the 5th round at Wembley Stadium.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, Daniel Dubois defeated Anthony Joshua with convincing ease, and he went on to successfully defend his IBF title.

The IBF title was up for grabs as Joshua and Dubois squared up in front of a passionate Wembley Stadium crowd.

Prominent figures, like Oleksandr Usyk, Conor McGregor, and Tyson Fury, were there for the bout between the two British fighters on their home ground.

Daniel Dubois shocks Anthony Joshua

Dubois got off to a fast start in the fight and finished the opening round with a massive right hand. Joshua was saved by the bell when he completed the count.

Dubois shocked everyone at Wembley Stadium by knocking out Joshua in just five rounds.

Dubois retained the IBF heavyweight world title after defeating the highly regarded former two-time world heavyweight champion in a surprising upset.

In the first round, Joshua was severely injured by a hard right hand to the chin.

Joshua was saved by the bell at the end of the third round by Dubois, who had stunned him with a brutal attack and forced a knockdown with a massive left hook.

In the third round, Joshua was knocked down once more and was once more saved by the bell.

Joshua was eventually floored by Dubois’s powerful blow in the fifth round when the pressure finally caught up to him.

The referee waived off the fight, indicating that Joshua could not meet the count and continue.
