Napoli are the new Italian SuperCoppa champions after beating Bologna to the title on Monday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Brazilian forward, David Neres scored twice to give the Partenopei a comfortable 2-0 victory at the King Saud University Stadium.
David Neres had the first real chance at goal as he moved into the box to unleash a shot after receiving a pass but was denied by Federico Ravaglia.
Neres eventually gave Napoli the lead with a sublime long-range strike into the top-left corner in the 39th minute.
Antonio Conte’s men went into the break the better side and with a deserved 1-0 lead over the Coppa Italia champions.
Napoli continued to put pressure on Bologna and almost doubled thej8lead three minutes into the second half.
Federico Ravaglia showed off his skills again as he denied Amir Rhramani’s goal-bound header to keep the scoreline the same.
However, Ravaglia, once again had no answer and was helpless as Neres pounced on a loose ball inside the box to give Napoli a two-goal lead in the 57th minute.
Bologna edged Napoli in possession but had nothing to show for it as they could not breach the defense of the Serie A champions after three shots on target.
The match ended in favour of Napoli as Antonio Conte claims his second title with the club after winning the Serie A last season.
The SupperCoppa is Napoli’s third and their first since 2014 where they beat Juventus 3-2 on penalties in a one-off match.
