Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, the D’Tigers dream of winning their second Afrobasket crashed on Wednesday night after losing to Senegal in the quarter-finals.

The D’Tigers fell short in the second and third quarters as they struggled to make most of their shots attempts.

Senegal took advantage of the D’Tigers lapses in the defense as they opened a 21-point lead at the end of the third quarter.

The five-time champions capitalised on D’Tigers poor perimeter defense as they scored 15 points from seven attempts from the three-point line.

Senegal’s Brancou Badio was terrific on the night as the guard poured 32 points on the D’Tigers while Jean Jacques-Boissy and Mustaoha Diop combined for 33 points.

Team captain Ike Nwamu led in points for Nigeria with 15 while, Caleb Agada, Stan Okoye and Martins Igbamu scored 14, 12 and 12 points respectively.
