Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is reportedly close to signing with Villarreal following the expiration of his five-year tenure at the Emirates.
According to The Athletic, the 23-year-old Ghanaian international, now a free agent, has completed a medical and is expected to sign a two-year contract with the LaLiga club until 2027.

Partey, previously with Atletico Madrid, had been in discussions to extend his stay at Arsenal, but no agreement was reached before his contract ended on June 30.
Four days after leaving Arsenal, Partey was charged with five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman.
He denies all allegations, which stem from a July 2022 arrest that remained undisclosed while investigations continued. Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on August 5.
The Ghanaian was one of Arsenal’s best performers last season, and could become a key performer for Villarreal on their return to the UEFA Champions League.
