FA CUP: Fulham thump Watford to qualify for fourth round

Fulham have progressed to the fourth round of the English FA CUP after an impressive win over Championship side Watford.

The Cottagers defeated the Hornets in a very comfortable win at the Craven Cottage on Thursday night.

Marco Silva put out a decent starting line-up with a couple of regulars like Alex Iwobi, Timothy Castagne, Sasa Lukic among others in a bid to win the match without breaking a sweat.

Alex Iwobi got the on to a pass and released a goal-bound shot from.the edge but Jonathan Bond made a nice save to deny the Nigerian.

Rodrigo Muniz gave the home side the lead after 26 minutes from a low drive into the bottom corner after he was left in space in the box.

The visitors, against the run of play equalized from Roco Vatta’s sublime strike from the edge of the box.

However, Fulham took the Hornets apart in the second half with three more goals without conceding.

Raul Jimenez scored from the spot-kick a few minutes after the restart to put Fulham back into the lead.

Joachim Andersen put the game away from Watford’s reach as he pounced on a loose ball before burying a well-placed shot into the back of the net.

Timothy Castagne’s got a reward for his relentless runs all through the match as he scored the final goal to make a 4-1 win for Marco Silva’s men.
