Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz might be headed for a Premier League return, potentially splitting from his partner, Juventus women’s player Alisha Lehmann.
According to Calciomercato, Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali may join Juventus in a swap deal, with Luiz moving in the opposite direction.
Luiz and Lehmann left Aston Villa for Juventus last summer, but while Lehmann has settled in well, Luiz has struggled to secure a starting spot. He has made 22 appearances, but only six have been as a starter.
As a result, Luiz may be looking for a new opportunity. Newcastle United could be a potential destination, but it’s unclear if they would also be interested in signing Lehmann, given their women’s team plays in the second tier.
Speculation about Luiz’s future is likely to continue if he remains on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
