Getafe recorded a famous win over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Monday night in a Matchday 26 fixture.
The visitors ended an eighteen-year jinx as they defeated Real Madrid away from home for the first time since 2008.
Former Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Ikechukwu Uche scored the decisive goal as Getafe defeated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2008.
Martin Satriano followed the footsteps of his predecessor as he scored the only goal of the Monday night encounter.
Satriano powered a sublime effort from range to give Jose Bordalas’ men the lead in the 29th minute.
Before the opener, David Soria was forced to make two brilliant saves in the early exchanges as he denied Vinicius Jr and Arda Guler’s attempts at goal.
Raul Arbeloa’s side looked out of sorts in attack in the second half as they struggled to break down Getafe.
Both sides ended the match with 10 men as Franco Mastantuono received his second booking as well as Adrian Liso a few moments later.
The result gives Barcelona a four-point gap over Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.
