Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has consistently praised Kyle Walker for his exceptional contributions to the team.

This is coming after Kyle Walker expressed his intention to depart the club in pursuit of opportunities abroad.

Guardiola addressed the situation following City’s recent 8-0 FA Cup triumph over Salford City, a match from which Walker was notably absent. He stated, “In his mind, he would like to explore it, to go to another country, to play the last years [somewhere else] for many reasons.”

Guardiola emphasized his preference to field players fully committed to the club’s current objectives, saying, “For that reason, I prefer playing other players whose mind is here.

Walker, 34, has been a pivotal figure at City since his £45 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, contributing to 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League victory.

Guardiola acknowledged Walker’s significant role in the club’s success, stating, “I have immense respect and gratitude for Kyle; his contributions have been pivotal to our achievements.”

Despite recent reports of Walker expressing a desire to explore opportunities abroad, Guardiola’s respect for the player remains unwavering.

Walker’s potential departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Manchester City’s history, with Guardiola’s praise underscoring the defender’s lasting impact on the club.
