Norway clinched automatic promotion from League B as Erling Haaland scored an hat-trick in a commanding 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan on the final matchday of the UEFA Nations League group stage.
The Man City striker opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after he slotted in a rebound after Antonio Nusa’s shot was saved by Stas Pokatilov and then doubled the lead with a header from Nusa’s cross.
Haaland’s strike partner, Alexander Sorloth made it 3-0 before the half-time break after he pounced on a loose ball in the box and placed it in the bottom corner.
Haaland sealed his hat-trick in the 71st minute, placing the ball in the bottom corner from the edge of the box from a Sander Berge pass.
Leipzig teenager Nusa scored Norway’s fifth goal of the night with a stunning strike in the 76th minute.
Haaland, who became his country’s record goalscorer last month, has now scored 38 goals in 39 appearances for Norway and is also the Nations League top scorer with seven goals in six games.
