According to Le Parisien, the Nanterre prosecutor’s office submitted a request on August 1, 2025, to indict Hakimi before the Hauts-de-Seine departmental criminal court, marking a significant development in a case that began in February 2023.
The allegations stem from an incident reported by a 24-year-old woman, who claimed she was raped by Hakimi at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt on February 25, 2023, after meeting him via Instagram.
She reported the incident to police on February 26 but did not file a formal complaint, opting instead for a “declaration of rape.”
On March 3, 2023, Hakimi was indicted on preliminary rape charges, questioned by investigators, and placed under judicial supervision, which barred him from contacting the accuser but allowed him to leave France.
Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, with his lawyer, Fanny Colin, asserting that the accusation is an “attempted racketeering.”
Colin emphasized that the complainant refused to press charges, undergo medical or psychological exams, or confront Hakimi, and that the indictment allows Hakimi access to the case file to defend himself.
