New Super Eagles invitee Olakunle Olusegun has hinted how the Super Eagles can get a victory over Russia on Friday when the two teams “lock horns” at the Luzhniki Stadium – venue of the 2018 FIFA World Cup final.
Olakunle OLusegun got an invitation to camp after a couple of forwards, including Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Cyriel Dessers, pulled out of the match due to various reasons, mostly personal.
However, the forward has already contributed to the team even without kicking a ball, as he revealed how the team can get a win over Russia.
Olusegun, the former Nigerian youth international, shared his thoughts in an exclusive chat with AllNigerianSoccer recently.
“I think if we can get early goal, it might turn them down and we can win the game, because all players now are ready to play in the game, so I believe them and believe they can win it.”

The striker, however, warned his teammates not to underestimate the Russian side because, according to him, they have a winning mentality and love to win every game they play.
“I know all the players in the national team in Russia. They are good players and they have the mindset of winning every game they play,” Olusegun told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“So, when Nigeria want to play them, they have to be determined and focused and never underrate anyone,” he added.
“We all know that Russian national team are also a big team. So, I think it would be a tough game.”
Olakunle Olusegun, the 23-year-old striker, will look to make his debut for the national team on Friday evening as Russia hosts the Super Eagles in a high-profile friendly match.
Olusegun scored two goals in 19 matches as his team, Krasnodar, emerged champions of the Russian Premier League
