Arsenal fear that influential defender Gabriel Magalhães could be sidelined for at least a month after sustaining a right thigh injury while on international duty with Brazil.
The Premier League leaders anticipate the 27-year-old will miss a crucial run of fixtures as tests confirm a muscle injury.

The absence of Gabriel, who has played every minute of the Premier League campaign, is a significant blow to their title aspirations. He is expected to miss the North London Derby against Tottenham on Sunday and the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich three days later.
Arsenal are also concerned Gabriel could miss key domestic fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford, and Aston Villa, along with European action at Club Brugge. His absence weakens a defense that has conceded only five league goals this season.
Manager Mikel Arteta must now look to Cristhian Mosquera or new signing Piero Hincapié to replace him.
Furthermore, the club remains unsure if striker Viktor Gyökeres (£64m) will return from a hamstring injury to lead the line against Spurs.
