The U-20 Africa Cup of Nations continued on Monday, with two fiercely contested Group C matches that significantly reshaped the group standings.

Ghana edged past defending champions Senegal with a narrow 1-0 victory at the Suez Stadium. Emmanuel Mensah was the hero of the night, netting the only goal of the game and earning the Man of the Match accolade.
The Black Satellites put up a disciplined and resolute performance, effectively neutralizing Senegal’s attacking threats. The win lifts Ghana to four points, level with DR Congo at the top of the group, and puts them in a strong position heading into their final group match against the Central African Republic on May 8.
In the other fixture, DR Congo claimed a 3-1 win over the Central African Republic in an energetic display that underlined their title ambitions.
DR Congo’s attacking efficiency proved too much for their opponents, who, despite pulling one back, were ultimately outclassed.
The victory places DR Congo at the summit of Group C on goal difference, tied with Ghana on four points. The Central African Republic, with just one point, will need a win in their final game against Ghana to stand a chance of advancing, while Senegal must now defeat DR Congo to avoid an early exit.
