Ruben Amorim was visibly moved by the warm welcome he received at Old Trafford, his first home game as Manchester United head coach.

Despite a tumultuous match against Bodo/Glimt, which saw United concede two goals after taking an early lead, Amorim’s side ultimately emerged victorious thanks to two second-half strikes from Rasmus Hojlund.

Amorim was touched by the fans’ enthusiastic reception, saying:

“It was special because half of the stadium doesn’t know me… You can say I came from Portugal, and half of the stadium doesn’t know me.”

The Portuguese coach expressed his gratitude for the fans’ support, feeling a sense of belonging despite being new to the club.
