Enyimba sports director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, is optimistic that the signing of Brown Ideye will help address the team’s goal-scoring struggles.
Ideye joined the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions on a short-term deal on Monday.
Enyimba has faced a challenging season in front of goal, particularly after the departure of top striker Chijioke Mbaoma.
The Aba giants are currently winless in their last nine games across all competitions, scoring just twice in their last 5 games, which highlights the need for a reliable goal-scorer.
Ekwueme believes Ideye’s experience and expertise will make a significant impact on the team.
“His experience will help address our goal-scoring challenges and inspire our younger players to improve their performance,” he remarked.
With Ideye on board, Enyimba will be hoping to turn their fortunes around and start climbing the NPFL table.
