3 Newcastle players that can destroy Liverpool in Carabao Cup final

Liverpool face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, with both managers, Arne Slot and Eddie Howe, seeking their first trophy at their respective clubs.

The two teams advanced to the final by defeating North London clubs in the semifinals. Liverpool comfortably beat Tottenham, while Newcastle outplayed Arsenal over two legs.

Liverpool, who are 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, aim to win their second consecutive Carabao Cup title, having beaten Chelsea 1-0 in last year’s final with a late extra-time header from Virgil van Dijk.

Newcastle star winger Anthony Gordon will miss out through suspension but here are 3 players that can hurt the Reds.

Bruno Guimaraes – Newcastle’s midfield boasts the perfect blend of work ethic and supreme skill, with Guimaraes epitomising both those qualities.

He scored the winner in the Monday night victory at West Ham United last time out, and his ability to control the game from deep, as well as score goals could harm Liverpool on Sunday.

Jacob Murphy – Murphy made a brief cameo in the 2022/23 Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester United but has established himself as an undisputed starter since.

He has scored 6 goals and contributed 9 assists this season, and will certainly be a key man for the magpies.

Alexander Isak – Isak has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe this season. If one man is going to single-handedly drag Newcastle to victory on Sunday, then it’s Isak.

The Swede, who has been linked to Liverpool recently, has managed a combined 27 goals and assists in just 32 games this term. He will be Newcastle’s biggest threat.
