Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers has provided a concerning injury update on star striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Rodgers confirmed that the striker sustained a hamstring issue during the Hoops’ UEFA Europa League 2-1 victory over Austrian club Sturm Graz on Thursday night.

The Nigeria international, who moved to Celtic Park on a free transfer this summer and quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice striker, was replaced early in the game due to the setback.
Rodgers indicated that the injury could sideline the forward for a lengthy period, which would be a major blow to the team.
“The first two [Iheanacho and Johnston]? It doesn’t look great. It looks like hamstrings. But okay, that’s what happens,” Rodgers told TNT Sports.
The manager’s pragmatic acceptance of the situation highlights the delicate balance of managing a player who may be susceptible to soft tissue injuries. Iheanacho’s absence will force a significant reshuffle in the attack as Celtic prepares for its next domestic fixtures.
