Kelechi Iheanacho could be on his way out of Sevilla, as reports of a January exit have circulated in recent days.
According to Spanish paper ElSevillsta, West Bromwich Albion and Watford are reportedly interested in bringing the Nigerian attacker back to England on loan in January.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer but has struggled to make any real impact, appearing in just seven league games without scoring a goal.
Although he scored twice in a Copa del Rey victory over Las Rozas last month, his lack of playing time and dreadful performances when selected in the lineup has given Sevilla reason to cut their losses.
West Brom and Watford are said to be “closely monitoring” the 28-year-old, who has a proven track record in English football from his time at Manchester City and Leicester City.
However, Iheanacho’s wages could prove to be a significant obstacle in any potential transfer.
According to reports, he earns around £70,000 per week, a figure that would be out of reach for many Championship clubs, including West Brom.
Perhaps a compromise could be reached as ‘Senior Man’ looks to revive his career.
