Led by their president, Smart Nwobi, the Nigerian community turned out in impressive numbers, dressed in traditional attire, to cheer on their national team with drumming, singing, and dancing.
The squad consists of 22 players, as well as the technical and administrative staff. The only notable absentee is star forward Victor Osimhen, who sustained an injury during Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Uyo.
Despite his absence, the team remains focused on the task at hand and is scheduled for an official training session at the Toyota Stadium at 6 pm on Monday.
The High Stakes for Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles

This match is far more than just another game; it’s a defining moment for Nigeria’s World Cup aspirations. The Super Eagles currently sit in third place in Group C with 10 points from seven games.
They trail group leaders South Africa, who have an impressive 16 points, and Benin Republic, who are in second with 11 points.
With only a few matches remaining in the qualification campaign, a win against South Africa is absolutely essential for Nigeria to keep their hopes of qualifying for the tournament alive.
