The Red Devils took the lead through Marcus Rashford in just the 2nd minute, with the England international converting after some good work from Amad Diallo.
Ipswich equalized through Omari Hutchinson’s curling effort, which deflected off Noussair Mazraoui and into the net.
The Tractor Boys’ resilience paid off as they secured a valuable point.
Amad performed well in wing-back role
It was always going to be interesting to see who started at right wing-back for United at Portman Road. And Amorim decided to go with Amad Diallo, with the Ivory Coast international justifying his selection by providing the assist for Rashford’s goal.
The winger possesses talent in abundance and this role, it seems, could belong to him going forward.
Rashford is a better option than Hojlund and Zirkzee
Rashford’s overall performance was not his best in a United shirt but there was still effort and desire.
It will be a tough ask to keep his spot up top, especially with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee pushing for regular game time, but the 27-year-old has silenced a few of his critics with his goal today.
Ipswich deserved more
It’s been a tricky start to life in the Premier League for Ipswich. Yet they seem like they’ve got enough about them to stay in the top flight, despite being involved in a big relegation scrap.
They have taken points off United just two weeks after a stunning 2-1 win over Tottenham.
If they can beat some of the teams close to them in the table, they will surely stay up.
