Bayern Munich booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup with a thrilling 4–2 victory over Brazilian giants Flamengo at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The German champions made a blistering start, going ahead in the sixth minute after Flamengo’s Erick Pulgar inadvertently turned a Joshua Kimmich corner into his own net.
Just three minutes later, Harry Kane doubled Bayern’s advantage with a powerful effort that deflected in, marking his 40th goal of the season.
Flamengo responded with determination, pulling one back in the 33rd minute through Gerson, who capitalised on a loose ball after a scramble in Bayern’s box. Bayern regained control just before halftime when Leon Goretzka fired home from distance to make it 3–1.
The Brazilians refused to go down quietly and narrowed the deficit again early in the second half. A penalty was awarded following a handball by Michael Olise, and Jorginho stepped up to convert for 3–2 in the 55th minute.
Despite the mounting pressure from Flamengo, Bayern’s composure and experience began to show. Manuel Neuer was called into action multiple times and made several key saves to keep his side ahead.

The defining moment came in the 73rd minute when Kane struck again, finishing off a precise Kimmich pass to make it 4–2 and put the match beyond Flamengo’s reach. The goal not only sealed Bayern’s win but also brought Kane’s season tally to 41, extending his remarkable scoring record.
The win sees Bayern progress to the next round, where they will face Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in what promises to be a blockbuster quarter-final clash in Atlanta.
