Manchester City end winless streak with victory over Nottingham Forest

Manchester City ended their 7-match winless streak as Cityzens recorded a convincing win over Nottingham Forest at the Etihad on Wednesday night.

The reigning champions were the better side by a mile as they controlled the game thereby creating chances.

Kevin De Bruyne marked his return after a lengthy injury with an impressive performance as he scored and provided an assist.

Pep Guardiola’s side got off to a very good start as they scored in the opening twn minutes of the match.

Kevin DeBruyne meet a cross into the box with a header across goal and Bernardo Silva arrived just on time to poke the ball into the net.

Erling Haaland had initially had a shot on target from the penalty area but Matz Sels denied the Norwegian striker with a comfortable save.

At the other end, Morgan Gibbs-White unleashed a decent goal-bound strike with his right foot but Stefan Ortega made a fantastic save to keep the scoreline the same.

Kevin De Bruyne scores his second goal of the season as he received Jeremy Doku’s cross with great composure before burying the ball into back of the net.

Jeremy Doku’s appeal for a penalty just before halftime was denied by the referee after the Belgian winger went down in thw box from a challenge.

Manchester City started the second half with the same drive and momentum as the first and the third goal came in 12 minutes after the restart.

Jeremy Doku received the ball in a swift counter attack, find his way around Nottingham Forest defenders before slotting the ball beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

The match ended 3-0 in favour of the champions as they ended their poor rum of form with an impressive win over the Tricky Trees.

Manchester City are temporarily back into the top four with 26 points after 14 matches.
