Manchester United kicked off their post-season Asia tour with a shocking 1-0 loss to the ASEAN All-Stars, a squad of South-East Asian internationals, marking a new low for Ruben Amorim’s side.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham, United’s struggles continued in Malaysia.

Despite parading through town on an open-top bus, the team, featuring stars like Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, and Rasmus Hojlund, couldn’t deliver. Substitutes Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo, and Alejandro Garnacho couldn’t turn the tide either.
Myanmar international Maung Maung Lwin, who plays his club football for mid-table Thai outfit Lamphun Warriors, scored the only goal of the game. His strike came with 20 minutes remaining, and United were unable to find an equaliser.
With a crucial summer transfer window ahead, Amorim knows his squad needs a major shake-up to compete with rivals. Wolves’ Matheus Cunha is reportedly close to becoming United’s first signing, while talks have started for Ipswich’s Liam Delap, though Chelsea are also in the race.
