OGC Nice forward and Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi made his much-anticipated return to competitive football on Saturday, March 29, 2025, after an injury-induced hiatus of over eight months.
Moffi came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute, replacing Baptiste Santamaria during Nice’s 2-1 defeat to AS Monaco at the Stade Louis-II.
The Nigerian international had been sidelined since July 2024 due to a cruciate ligament injury sustained during pre-season training. His absence spanned approximately eight months and 11 days, during which Nice felt the void left by their prolific striker.
Moffi’s return to the pitch was met with gratitude and relief. Expressing his sentiments on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), he simply wrote, “Thank you, God.”
Prior to his injury, the 25-year-old had been a key player for Nice, having scored 11 goals in 30 league appearances in the previous season. His comeback is timely as Nice continues its campaign to secure a spot in European competitions.
Looking ahead, Moffi will aim to regain full match fitness and contribute significantly when Nice hosts Nantes in their upcoming league fixture on Friday, April 4. Fans and teammates alike are hopeful that his return will bolster the team’s attacking options in the crucial stages of the season.
