West Ham star forward Mohammed Kudus received his marching orders for taking out three Tottenham players in a matter of seconds in a dramatic finale at the London Stadium.
Kudus’s implosion began when he kicked out at Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven, who had fallen onto the ball. The West Ham forward then pushed Van de Ven in the face, sending him tumbling to the ground. In the same chaotic moment, Kudus accidentally clashed with Richarlison, who went down clutching his face.
But that wasn’t the end of Kudus’s rampage. He also shoved Spurs midfielder Pape Mate Sarr in the face, an incident initially missed by referee Andrew Madley. Upon reviewing the play, Madley upgraded Kudus’s initial yellow card to a straight red.
The dismissal capped an astonishing seven-minute collapse by West Ham, who conceded three goals to trail 4-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Kudus will now miss his team’s next three games against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.
Despite being down to 10 men, West Ham prevented further damage, but the defeat leaves Julen Lopetegui’s side struggling with just two wins from their first eight Premier League games.
