Morocco have been unarguably the best African team at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Atlas Lions rounded off their group stage matches in style, dismantling Haiti in the early hours of Thursday.
Ismael Saibari scored for the third game in a row in the competition as Morocco sealed a 4-2 win over the Caribbean nation.
Morocco shattered the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s long-held record for most goals scored at the World Cup courtesy of the four goals.
Nigeria had scored 23 goals at the World Cup between their debut appearance in 1994 and their last appearance in 2018.
However, Morocco now hold the new record having scored three goals more.
The Atlas Lions have the chance to increase their tally as they are set to take on the Netherlands in the round of 32.
Morocco also holds the record for the most wins for an African team with seven. The Super Eagles previously held the record with six wins.
