Former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has shared his thoughts on the positive doping test of winger Mykhailo Mudryk in his latest episode of his podcast.
The Ukrainian was provisionally suspended and Chelsea confirmed that they received a notification from the FA that a sample provided by Mudryk during a random urine test contained a banned substance.
“I hope he is innocent. I remember when we played, if someone offered me something, my first question was always, ‘What is it?’ I am responsible for what goes into my body, what I eat, and so on.
People around you will offer you different things. Friends, friends of friends will say, ‘Hey, this will give you an extra one or two percent in your performance,’ but I would ask if it’s legal. In this case, as I have always said, he is innocent until proven guilty,” Obi Mikel said in his podcast.
Mudryk has released a statement of his own denying any wrongdoing and has stated he is cooperating with the authorities to resolve the issue and hopes to get back on the forl
