Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has revealed that his uncle, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, is his all-time greatest player.
In a recent episode of the “Is This Seat Taken?” podcast, Iwobi expressed his admiration for the former Super Eagles captain, crediting him as a lifelong idol.
“My GOAT is forever my uncle, Jay Jay Okocha. I have to shout him out all the time.
“He’s always a legend on and off the field,” Iwobi said.
Iwobi fondly recalled watching Okocha’s training sessions and matches and credited him with teaching him valuable lessons both on and off the pitch. “He is the one who taught me how to express myself,” Iwobi said.
Okocha’s influence extends beyond Iwobi’s playing career, as he has also provided guidance on professionalism, financial management, and humility.
“Off the field, he advises me on how to be professional, manage my money, how to move and stay humble and grounded. So, he will always be my idol,” Iwobi said.
