Napoli missed the opportunity to close the gap on the Serie A leaders, Inter after being held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna.
André-Frank Zambo Anguissa gave the visitors an early lead with a powerful solo run and composed finish, but Bologna equalised through a stunning flicked goal by Dan Ndoye in the second half.
Despite losing their goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski to injury early on, Bologna grew into the game and dominated large portions of the second half.
Napoli, meanwhile, looked disjointed and failed to mount any real threat after the break. Substitute Santiago Castro nearly won it for Bologna late on but missed a glaring chance, while Napoli’s Raspadori had a last-ditch effort saved.
The result sees Bologna climb back into the Champions League spots, while Napoli remain winless in five away games and miss a key opportunity in the title race.
