After leading by 25 points at the start of the third quarter, the Lakers eased off in the second half, which the young and tenacious Raptors took advantage of to trim the deficit to 11 points and then to six.
However, the Lakers’ offense aided their defense by launching consecutive offensive plays that resulted in corner 3-pointers from Rui Hachimura to increase the advantage back to 15 points.
They ended their losing skid and won their first game of the five-game trip by maintaining their lead for the rest of the game.
Russell contributed 19 points and 6 assists, while Austin Reaves finished with 20 points and 6 assists.
On Monday, the Lakers take on the Detroit Pistons as they continue the fourth game of their road trip.
