The players in the Super Eagles camp ahead of the international friendly matches against Iran and Jordan have risen to 22, with the arrival of the captain of the team, Wilfred Ndidi.
The Besiktas midfielder arrived in Antalya on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the second training session of the team before taking on Iran on Friday.
Ndidi’s presence brings leadership on and off the pitch as the team takes to the pitch for the first time since claiming bronze at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco over two months ago.
The total number of players in camp as of Wednesday afternoon is as follows: Wilfred Ndidi, Adebayo Adeleye, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Alex Iwobi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Chidera Ejuke, Emmanuel Fernandez, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Francis Uzoho, Frank Onyeka, Igoh Ogbu, Maduka Okoye, Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Philip Otele, Raphael Onyedika, Samuel Chukwueze, Semi Ajayi, Yira Sor, and Zaidu Sanusi.
Meanwhile, Eric Chelle will be without Fulham FC central defender Calvin Bassey for the two friendly matches after a back injury.
His absence will prompt a tactical adjustment from Eric Chelle and his technical crew ahead of the fixtures.
Bassey was instrumental to Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles AFCON triumph and was named in the tournament’s best XI.
