Nigerian football fans online have expressed a great degree of confidence in the Super Eagles after their group stage opponents were unveiled at the AFCON 2025 draw.

The draw for the competition took place at the magnificent Mohammed v Theatre on Monday night and was graced by African football legends, administrators, coaches and other guests.

The Super Eagles will face Tunisia, Uganda Tanzania in Group C.

Nigeria last met Tunisia at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as the Carthage Eagles defeated the Super Eagles in the second round.

Uganda boasts of a brilliant record against the three-time African champions with four wins, two draws and losses in eight meetings.

Tanzania on the other hand are winless against the Super Eagles with five losses and three drawn matches in eight meetings as well.

However, others share the belief that the group is quite tricky and the Super Eagles might face a daunty task in progresssing to the round of sixteen.

“This group will be exciting one, as Tunisia has always been a tough opponent for the Super Eagles, with matches between the two sides gives great entertainment. Uganda and Tanzania is also another threat, but Super Eagles have quality players to outsmart them and emerge as the group leaders.

2. Aikay

Tunisia with their negative football. The Uganda & Tanzania with their iron condemn ball.

This one wey we no get Better creative players for midfield, how we wan take win? God help us.

3. The Chris

It looks tough but I believe we’ll win the group if we invite the right players most especially good defensive midfielder, Ndidi don’t deliver that much again

4. Kenz

9. Calvin Emeka

Last time we were in the same opening group with Tanzania, we won the thing. Long before the time of most of you reading this.

As always, I have no doubt we will win the tournament.

Go next door with your doubts. No team is better than the Super Eagles. Until they are. 😁

10. Tiamiyu

Nigeria always seems to get lucky with group draws. We should be aiming to top this group with at least 7 points. Group F is undoubtedly the toughest, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Ivory Coast gets knocked out early. Mali vs. Morocco is definitely a match to look forward to. 🤟🏻

11. EmmyFol

Nigeria super Eagles is in a fair group this time. The big question now remains, can they get the whole 9 points ? Considering the kinda talented players we have.

I know Nigeria will still reach the semifinals once again but will they go all the way to win the title or will this be another tragic outing?
