Victor Boniface has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerian fans, asking for their patience and understanding as he works to break his goal drought with the Super Eagles.
Despite being a prolific goal-scorer for his club, Bayer Leverkusen, Boniface has yet to score in 12 appearances for the three-time African champions.
However, he showcased his scoring prowess on Friday night, netting his 11th goal of the season in Leverkusen’s 3-1 victory over Bochum.
Taking to his Instagram story, Boniface reassured Nigerian supporters, requesting their patience and trust as he strives to end his international goal drought.
“Nigerians, please be patient with me. The goal will come,” he posted, conveying his determination to deliver for the Super Eagles.
Boniface was a second-half substitute in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe, where he once again failed to make an impact.
