In today’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) action on Sunday, several matches took place across the country, delivering excitement and significant implications for the league standings.
At the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Niger Tornadoes hosted Rangers International. The visitors secured a 1-0 victory, courtesy of a 33rd minute goal by Bashiru Usman.
Ikorodu City faced Sunshine Stars in a closely contested match. The game ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts, with the hosts scoring a penalty deep into stoppage time to secure all three points.

Katsina United recorded a narrow 1-0 win against Nasarawa United while Remo Stars left it late to defeat Akwa United 2-1.
Current Standings
As the season progresses, the NPFL table remains tightly contested. Remo Stars top the table with 36 points in 19 games, three more than second placed Rivers United who have a game in hand. Shooting Stars are in third place, level on points with Rivers United.
Akwa United, Plateau United and Nasarawa United are in the relegation places with the three teams having 19 points each.
