Obaje powers Rangers to consecutive victories as Kano Pillars record second win of the season

Godwin Obaje scored in consecutive games as Enugu Rangers bagged another win within two days to go fifth on the Nigeria Premier Football League table.

The Flying Antelopes hosted Abia Warriors in Enugu on Wednesday evening on matchday 7 of the league.

Two goals in the first half secured maximum points for the 2024 champions as they recorded their third win of the season.

Chidozie Iwundu put the host ahead after 14 minutes of action with a header from a corner kick while too striker Godwin Obaje doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with another header.

Enugu Rangers took a comfortable 2-0 lead into the break after a dominant performance in front of their home fans.

The second witnessed no goal from either sides as Enugu Rangers held on to their lead to secure maximum points.

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars got their second win of the season after a poor start.

Sai Masi Gida secured a narrow win over Kwara United at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Veteran midfielder and captain of the side, Rabiu Ali converted a 22nd minute opportunity to register the only goal of the match.

The win takes Kano Pillars out of the relegation zone with seven points from six matches and a match outstanding.
