Super Eagles versatile defender Ola Aina will not be part of the squad to face the Amavubi of Rwanda on Monday.
The Nottingham Forest right-back according Pooja Media didn’t travel with the team back to Nigeria from Abidjan.
Pooja Media reports that the defender travelled back to England from Abidjan after the game against Benin Republic on Thursday.
It’s unclear why Ola Aina returned to England but it’s likely the 28-year-old sustained a knock before he was substituted.
Ola Aina played for about an hour in the one-all draw against the Cheetars before he was replaced by Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The Fenerbache right-back is expected to take Ola Aina’s place against Rwanda on Monday.
The Super Eagles arrived Uyo on Friday afternoon as they prepare to take on Rwanda on their final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier having secured qualification already.
