Victor Osimhen didn’t make the trip to Sweden on matchday 6 of the Europa League due to an injury he sustained over the weekend at Silvasspor.

His presence might have made a difference in Galatasaray’s attempt to win away from home in the competition this season but Okan Buruk’s men faltered once again.

The Turkish champions are yet to win an away match in the Europa League this season after three attempts.

The latest run of ill-luck was quite heartbreaking for Galatasaray as they conceded a late goal to relinquish their lead.

Despite missing key players: Victor Osimhen, Baris Yilmaz and Mauro Icardi, the Turkish champions scored twice in the match.

Elias Jelert and Yunus Akgun scored in reach half as the visitors came from behind to take the lead after Erik Botheim opener for Malmo.

Galatasaray were already costing to victory until  Sergio Pena’s sublime strike from the edge of the box found its way under the roof of the net late in the game.

Despite dropping points for the third consecutive time away from home, Galatasaray are still in the automatic qualification spot as they occupy the 5th spot on the log.
