Victor Osimhen scored his 20th goal of the seaon in Galatasaray’s two-all against AZ Alkmaar at the Rams Park on Thursday night.
Osimhen scored a cracking goal from the edge of the box to half the deficit for the home side after the visitors took a two-goal lead.
AZ Alkmaar came into the match with a 4-1 lead and quenched Galatasaray firepower to stage a comeback with two away goals.
Japanese defender Sieya Maikuma gave the visitors the lead on the 42nd mimute while Danso Kasius doubled the lead 10 minutes into the second half.
Osimhen powered a right footed strike into the roof of the net a minute later to kick start the lomg road to Galatasaray’s attempt of staging a comeback.
Roland Sallai and Baris Yilmaz’s linked up well around the edge of the box before the former unleashed a strike into the bottom corner to restore parity.
Unfortunately neither of Osimhen’s nor Sallai’s goal was enough to rescue Galatasaray as the Turkish champions exit the playoffs 6-3 on aggregate.
