Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco full-back Achraf Hakimi has shared his thoughts on the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
The 2025 Ballon d’Or race is shaping up to be a fierce battle, with stars like Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Mohamed Salah, and Raphinha expected to be at the forefront.
‘It’s a pleasure, an honor for me to be considered a candidate for the Ballon d’Or,” said Achraf Hakimi, PSG’s Moroccan full-back, thrilled to be named among the elite.

Speaking at the FIFA Club World Cup, where he has been pivotal in Paris Saint-Germain’s run to the final, Hakimi told Africa Top Sports:
“If people think I am a candidate for the Ballon d’Or, I am very happy.
“It’s a pleasure, an honor for me. I am in great shape, and I feel good. I think I had a magnificent season.”
Since joining PSG from Inter Milan in July 2021, Hakimi has solidified his status as one of the world’s premier right-backs.
He’s also a strong contender to outshine Ademola Lookman and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for the CAF Player of the Year award.
PSG will face Chelsea in the final, with U.S President Donald Trump in attendance.
