Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso says he is happy with Vinicius Jr amid rumours of the player’s desire to leave the club.

Reports suggest that the Brazilian winger is unhappy with how he often comes off as a substitute in most of the matches he has featured in this season.

Vinicius Jr. has featured in six matches so far this season, but the winger hasn’t played the entire duration of any of them.

The player is said to be frustrated with this development and might consider leaving the club if things remain the same.

However, Xabi Alonso says he is happy with the player and understands his plight, but he needs to continue to work hard.

“I’m very happy with Vini, for sure. He has to continue working hard as he’s doing, the season has just started!”. “I’ve been a player, I know the feeling when you get subbed off… but I am very happy with Vini”.

Vinicius Jr played over 70 minutes and provided an assist in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol at the weekend before he was substituted.
