The Nigeria Professional Football League served up drama across the country today, featuring late goals, surprise results and one match overshadowed by fan trouble.

Abia Warriors secured a comfortable 2–0 home win over El Kanemi Warriors, controlling the game from start to finish. Ikorodu City also made the most of home advantage with a narrow 1–0 victory against Bendel Insurance in a tightly contested encounter.

In Kano, the most dramatic fixture of the day saw Shooting Stars snatch a 1–1 draw against Kano Pillars. Mustapha Jibril gave Pillars the lead in the 13th minute, but Adam Mustapha equalised deep into stoppage time.

The late goal sparked chaos as home fans invaded the pitch, attacking match officials and some visiting players — an incident likely to attract disciplinary action.

Katsina United produced one of the standout results by beating defending champions Remo Stars 3–1. The hosts were decisive and clinical, leaving the champions with no way back. Warri Wolves and Niger Tornadoes played out a 1–1 draw in a balanced contest, with neither side able to find a late winner.

Nasarawa United edged Enugu Rangers 2–1 in a tense clash, capitalising on their chances and holding firm to the end. Plateau United recorded a composed 2–0 win over Barau, securing a clean sheet and strengthening their position in the table.

There was a major upset as Kun Khalifat stunned Enyimba 1–0, a result that will raise eyebrows across the league. Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists and Kwara United cancelled each other out in a 1–1 draw, with both teams settling for a share of the points.

The biggest talking points from the day include the violence in Kano, Kun Khalifat’s shock win over Enyimba, and the struggles of Remo Stars away from home. Home teams generally thrived, with Katsina United, Plateau United, Nasarawa United and Abia Warriors all securing strong results.
