The Super Eagles of Nigeria dug deep to earn a 1-1 draw against Russia, away from home, ending the hosts’ 36-0 winning streak on home soil.
There were some good performances, especially second-half substitute Tolu Arokodare, who came clutch to help Eric Chelle’s men avoid defeat.
That cameo appearance earned the Genk striker huge praise, with some calling for the man he replaced, Victor Boniface, to be dropped from future squads by manager Chelle.
THE TRUTH ABOUT VICTOR BONIFACE:
Boniface is a remarkable person but he's not close to National Team material and we've tested him under 4 DIFFERENT COACHES !
He Should stick to Club football and friendlies – we got enough strikers who have proven themselves ready for now 🦅❌ pic.twitter.com/drhs02HEug

Tolu Arokodare is really showing why he's going to be ahead of Boniface in the pecking order…

Arokodare’s cameo has launched him into the center of conversations around Nigeria’s striking options. With Boniface struggling to impact the game, Arokodare’s directness and composure stood out.
Victor Osimhen is the undisputed first choice, but Arokodare is showing why he should deputise for the Napoli man instead of Boniface.
