The Amavubi of Rwanda are set to arrive Lagos, Nigeria today, Friday 15th November, 2024 ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles.
Players and staff of the Amavubi left the Kigali International Airport on Friday morning for Lagos before a connecting a flight to Uyo.
Rwanda are condemn to win against the Super Eagles as they look to a secure place at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The East Africans put themselves in a difficult situation after the 1-0 shock home loss to Libya on Friday.
Rwanda will need to beat the Super Eagles in Uyo and hope that Libya do them a favour by defeating Benin Republic.
The Amavubi have 5 points from 5 games while Benin Republic have 7 points.
The Super Eagles qualified for AFCON 2025 before the one-all draw against Benin Republic in Abidjan on Thursday following Rwand’s loss to Libya.
However, the three-time Africa Cup of Nations champions will look to end the qualification series on a winning note following the disappointing display against the Cheetars.
The match against Rwanda is scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Monday 18th November, 2024. Kick-off is 5 p.m.
