3 reasons Arsenal can win Premier League after flogging Man City

Ifeanyi by Ifeanyi

Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Manchester City maintained their title charge, and despite everyone already crowning Arne Slot’s men champions with 14 games to go, the Gunners are firmly in the title race.

The Gunners were ruthless in dispatching defending champions Man City and showed they are certainly up for a fight. The gap between themselves and Liverpool may be 6 points but in football, anything is possible.

Here are three reasons why Mikel Arteta’s men can still end the season as champions:

1. Liverpool’s Shaky Away Form

Liverpool have dropped points on the road at Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle, as well as at home against Fulham and Manchester United.

This vulnerability at the back can lead to more dropped points, allowing Arsenal to close the gap.

2. The Injury Factor

Liverpool have been fortunate to avoid significant injuries so far this season.

However, a long and grueling season can take its toll, and an injury to key players like Mohamed Salah or Virgil Van Dijk could seriously derail their season.

Injuries have already impacted Arsenal and Manchester City, and Liverpool’s luck may soon run out.

3. Tough Games Ahead for Liverpool

Liverpool face a challenging run of fixtures, including matches against Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle.

These difficult games will offer the Gunners some hope that they can close the gap. Arteta will be hopeful of a slip-up, but Arsenal must remain consistent to take advantage.

Ultimately, Arsenal’s title hopes rest on their ability to beat Liverpool in the return leg and continue winning their own games.

With 14 games to go, the title race is far from over, and Arsenal remain firmly in contention.
