African football legend Samuel Eto’o Fils is back in the headlines but this time not for any corruption allegation.
The former Camerounian captain ran into a former teammate of his at an Ecobank group seminar in Douala and the video is trending on social media.
Upon hearing his teammate call him, Eto’o turned and immediately recognized his voice as he hugged and shook hands with in excitement.
The former Barcelona striker expressed shock to see his friend and former teammate work as a security guard for the organization.
He promised to meet him at a later date citing that he was in a hurry to attend another meeting.
“What are you doing here? We need to linkup. We can’t talk right now because I have a meeting in 10 minutes but tell Christian (PA) to do everything and set a meeting. We are definitely going talk later my friend. I am happy to see you”
Samuel Eto’o is now the President of the Cameroon Football Federation after an illustrious career for both club and country.
Eto’o is a four-time African Footballer of the Year (2003, 2004, 2005, 2010) and holds the record as the Africa Cup of Nations all-time top scorer with 18 goals in 29 matches.
He is also a two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner (2000, 2002) and an Olympic gold medalist with Cameroun at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
Eto’o won major titles with Mallorca, Barcelona and Inter Milan including back to back Champions League titles in 2009 (Barcelona) and 2010 (Inter Milan).
