Kelechi Iheanacho might be on his way out of Sevilla six months after joining the Spanish La Liga outfit.
The Super Eagles forward has struggled to get enough playing time in the league and hasn’t scored yet in the league in nine appearances.
Although, Iheanacho has three goals in the Copa Del Rey, he has not been able to find the back of the net in the La Liga.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla on a free transfer from Leicester City where he won the FA Cup, FA Community Shield and the English Football League Championship.
Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta revealed that the club has received offers for the 28-year-old with the opening of the winter transfer window.
Pimenta also added that the player suffered from a slight knock on resumption to training after the festive break.
“The only thing I can say about Kelechi is that after the holidays, in the first training session. He had a small problem and it is true that he has offers from other clubs. Right now it is not a serious injury,” Pimienta said.
“It is just some minor problems that he has, and he could not train yesterday. He has not trained today and he will not be able to travel for tomorrow’s game.
“We do know that he has offers from other clubs, I don’t know if they are really interested, at least. I don’t know if this will end up happening or not. However it is true that he cannot travel due to some minor problems.”
A move away from Sevilla might help Kelechi Iheanacho rediscover his form and confidence which haslve been lacking in the national team as well.
With four days into the transfer window, Iheanacho will look to consider favourable offers both on the pitch and on paper as he looks to get back to form.
