Nantes suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to RC Strasbourg at Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday, as a late goal from Félix Lemarechal sealed the win for the visitors.
Despite a spirited second-half performance, including a lively display from substitute Moses Simon, the hosts were unable to break down Strasbourg’s disciplined defense, leaving them without a win in their last four Ligue 1 outings.
The match remained goalless until the 79th minute when Strasbourg’s Félix Lemarechal found the back of the net, assisted by Dilane Bakwa, to secure the win for the visitors.
Nantes’ head coach made a tactical substitution in the 71st minute, introducing Nigerian winger Moses Simon to bolster the attack. Despite Simon’s efforts, Nantes were unable to break through Strasbourg’s resolute defense.
This defeat marks Nantes’ fourth loss in their last five Ligue 1 matches, keeping them in 14th place with 24 points.
Strasbourg, on the other hand, extended their unbeaten run to five games, solidifying their position in 6th place with 40 points.
Nantes will aim to rebound in their next fixture against Lille, while Strasbourg looks to continue their positive momentum when they face Toulouse.
