The Nigerian national football team, known as the Super Eagles, conducted their inaugural training session under newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle on Tuesday afternoon in Kigali.
This session marks the commencement of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda, scheduled for Friday at the Amahoro Stadium.
A total of 22 players participated in the training, with the exception of Alhassan Yusuf, who has yet to arrive at the team’s Radisson Blu Hotel base.
Notably, Coach Chelle opted for a closed session, excluding media and public attendance to maintain focus and discipline within the squad.
The Super Eagles are slated for two additional training sessions before facing the Amavubi of Rwanda. The match is set to kick off at 5:00 pm Nigerian time on Friday, marking a crucial step in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
