Maduka Okoye will not be available for selection when the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on Jordan on Tuesday.
According to AllNigeriaSoccer, the Udinese goalkeeper picked up a thigh injury during training in preparation for the match.
After missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the 26-year-old shot-stopper returned to the team for the friendly matches against Iran and Jordan.
Maduka Okoye was in between the sticks on Friday as the Super Eagles sealed a 2-1 win over Iran in Antalya.
Okoye’s injury leaves Eric Chelle with the option of starting Francis Uzoho or Adebayo Adeleye in goal against the Asians.
The Franco-Malian tactician is expected to give the nod to Uzoho who is ahead of Adeleye in the pecking order.
The Injury is also a major concern for Udinese who have been reliant on the form of Maduka Okoye in their fight to remain in the Serie A.
