Super Falcons first choice goalie, Chiamaka Nnadozie is at risk of missing out of this year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after suffering an injury while in action for her club side Paris FC.
The award-winning goalkeeper was stretched off the pitch in Paris FC 4-0 win over Fleury 91 in the French Première Ligue on Wednesday evening.
Fleury 91’s Inès Konan tackled Nnadozie and was shown a yellow card for the challenge as the Super Falcons first choice was stretched off the pitch.
Nnadozie has been on a brilliant run of form for Paris FC with 18 appearances in the league, 11 clean sheets and over 81% save rate.
The length of Chiamaka Nnadozie’s injury is unknown yet but the 24-year-old could be at risk of missing the WAFCON billed for Morocco this summer.
With no clear plan for preparation ahead of the tournament from the Nigeria Football Federation for the Super Falcons at the moment, Nnadozie’s absence posses a bad omen as the team look to reclaim their pride on the continent.
Meanwhile Paris FC have already qualified for the playoffs as they occupy the third spot with 45 points from 21 matches.
Paris FC are also in contention to win the Coupe de France Féminine as they take on rivals Paris Saint-Germain on May 3 at Stade de l’Epopée in Calais.
